Implementing BIM in organizations

Implementing the BIM methodology – regardless of the level of advancement – becomes a key element of the business strategy.

Implementing the BIM methodology is a complex process that requires preparation. This is because it is not only extensive but also tailored to the specific needs of each company. AEC Design’s experienced team of engineers supports our clients in the process of implementing the BIM methodology, ensuring a successful implementation and enabling the company to derive tangible benefits from it.

Benefits of implementing the BIM methodology

  • One 3D model as a central source of information
  • Improved processes in the organization
  • Effective collaboration
  • Flexibility of work location
  • Simplified IT management and cost reduction
  • Data security Increased competitiveness

How does the BIM implementation process work?

  1. BIM Goals
The first step before implementing BIM is to define the BIM goals, which are the client’s expectations regarding the BIM process and the added value they expect to achieve through the use of BIM methodology.

  2. Survey
Specially designed surveys allow for a better understanding of the client and the working methods of individual departments within the organization.

  3. Implementation
Plan The implementation plan involves analyzing the responses provided in the survey, based on which conclusions and recommendations are prepared regarding the development of processes, standards, software, and training.

  4. BIM Implementation

Preparation for developing a BIM Implementation Plan.

The development of a BIM Implementation Plan is a crucial stage, as it is when our team gathers information to select the best solutions and tailor the action plan to the specifics and needs of the organization.

This involves:

  • Gathering information about the organization using a prepared BIM implementation survey.
  • Holding a meeting to discuss the survey and define BIM implementation goals.
  • Conducting a survey to gather information about the individuals involved in the implementation, their qualifications, scope of duties, software knowledge, software used, etc.
  • Conducting a detailed BIM implementation survey covering architecture, structures, installations, and managerial staff (all departments involved in the implementation project).
  • Based on consultations with the client and the collected information, a BIM Implementation Plan is developed.
